Introduction, Design, and OSD

The price model for 27” IPS displays has been turned on its head recently by imported models from Korea that you can buy on eBay. Selling for as little as $350, these are stripped down models that lack inputs beyond DVI, have no OSD, have very minimal stands, and often have very little in the way of support. They also use A- grade panels where tolerances for stuck pixels and uniformity errors might not be as high as they are with A or A+ panels that are used in most displays. [click here for full review]

Fusion HD – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What hardware platform is this based on?

The Fusion HD hardware platform is based on the Sigma 8650 series platform (Model 8655)
See http://www.sigmadesigns.com/uploads/documents/SMP8650_br.pdf for further information

What software platform is this based on?

The Fusion HD software platform is derived from an open source Linux platform supporting NTFS (system default), EXT3 and Fat32.

Does the Fusion HD support an Internal Hard Drive?

Yes. The Fusion HD supports SATA hard drive sizes up to 2 Terabytes.

Are USB External Hard Drive Hard Drives Supported?
The Fusion HD has two USB 2.0 Host Ports which allow users to connect External 3.5” Hard Drives and 2.5” External Hard Drives.

Can I use my USB Thumb Drive or Card Reader?

Yes. The Fusion HD supports most USB thumb drives, SD/CF card readers, and large capacity SDHC Cards. NTFS formatted cards will not work at this time (only FAT32 / EXT2). Then playing back media files and media with higher bitrates you may experience some freezing, lag or jitter that is directly related to the thumb drive/card. These issues are NOT related to the Nixeus Fusion HD.

What peripherals can be used with the Nixeus Fusion HD?

The Fusion HD will support USB HDDs, USB Card readers, Keyboards and mice, and external DVD Drives. At the present time there is no support for Blu-Ray drives.

What can the Fusion HD play?

The Fusion HD can playback a comprehensive range of digital media files consisting of Movies, Music, and Photos all of which you can play back on your Television/Monitor.

Currently, the Fusion HD supports the Video, Audio and Photo files formats listed below:
