This thread is to show the beta testing progress of current and future firmwares of the Nixeus Fusion XS Network Media Player. I will be posting videos of beta testing and screen shots on this thread. Nixeus Fusion XS owners may also contribute their videos showing development on this thread. I will continue to update this tread with user submitted videos showing their own Android installed applications for the Fusion XS. We will also consider any suggestions/requests for features and functions for the NX-500 on this thread.

Please note we are limited by time, engineering resources, hardware and Marvell's SDK to what we can have on each new "official firmware update" for the Nixeus Fusion XS. We will not implement or release any features in firmwares that may cause stability issues with Fusion XS.

We need video setting(contrast, brightness and color) or 3D support. the current firmware is wasting the great chip you put inside.....some chinese model using the same chipset has outdone you by far. where is the Qveo setting for this chipset. I am disappointed that you put out such unfinished product (firmware wise at lease) into the market.
On the Hardware side: Only two usb ports jamed together at the back, let`s assume one for the wireless KB and mouse . the other for the wifi then you run out of usb port for you media hdd. well, the other thing is the wifi adapters i have are not working with this unit.

Hi sbobcat,

Thank-you for your suggestions... I will advise our engineers and see if these can be implemented in the current Marvell SDK.

We are aware of the current issues - many of these issues were not present with firmwares on Marvell SDK version 2 in Oct and Nov... which is why we proceeded with production and shipped. We received Marvell SDK version 3 on Dec. 8th and ported the firmware build over to that new SDK and installed into the device before shipping.

Qdeo is on Automatically... and cannot be adjusted to turn off or for custumization - but I will talk to the engineers if it is possible to have custom settings for Qdeo.

For Wifi-N Adapters if they have Ralink 3070 Chipsets they should work, but they may not work depending that brands hardware/software configuration. We recommend using wired ethernet connection for streaming Large High bitrate files.

The Nixeus Fusion XS does support USB Hubs if you want to add more USB devices.

IF you don't mind me asking - What chinese model is using the same chipset? We do have almost all the Android Boxes and Media Player brands in our office to test and compare...

I 've brought this unit so hope you guys can make it better. I 've owned a pbo 1073 and it is a lot of fun. lot of diy universal firmwares to play around. I know this unit/chip is new but if the other company can support the 3D and you should try it to. This marvell chip is going head to head with the realtek 1186, and the 3D is the function they are heavily promoting on right now. I believe the marvell is better chip but we need the firmware to utilized it.

Those examples of players you are comparing to may or may not be using the newest SDK from Marvell. So features and functions may be different. Also soem of them pay for the blu-ray licensing which is why they support Blu-Ray ISO and Blu-Ray 3D - but may also hinder playback of other file formats when Cinavia is required in Feb 2012. Which is what we are avoiding by opting out of the Blu-Ray Licensing for the Fusion XS.

They released one a 2 weeks ago that I got from Fileshare before the Megaupload fiasco scared off all filesharing services from the USA... version 01.47.00.32.10 I think... they recently uploaded it to rapidshare and sent out an e-mail out to the beta testers last friday. But I think they are coming out a beta firmware this week or next week that fixes the HD Audio passthrough and SAMBA networking issues.

Great...let us know when it hits since I am not getting the Beta emails anymore!

Hi FusionSea,

Are you on our beta testers group? I sent an e-mail out on Friday with a new link to download beta vers 01.47.00.32.10 - but we should be getting a new beta firmware as early as tomorrow or sometime this week to fix the two major issues of HD Audio Passthrough and SAMBA shares...
