I got this media player to hook up my 3tb WD My Book external usb hard drive, so I can play all the mkv videos I have on it, on the tv with out having to move my laptop to the tv every time. So far... I've been trying to get it to detect any kind of media I have on either the hard drive or my network, but I cant get anything to show up.
Just like one folder maybe in the network, but no content. I cant get the player to detect my HDD connected directly to it, but I can when i get it on the network hooked up to a pc.Still no content. I do not know how i would build a Yamj xml or whatever if i need it.
Could anyone help me? I really don't wanna spend more money for other media players.

Hi Riysuke,

We apologize for the issue you are experincing. The Fusion XS (NX-500) cannot detect 3TB external hard drives. In regards to the network detection of your PC or media server - have you enabled sharing permissions on?

Well i can get my networks to show up and like the first folders in them, but when i go into them it has nothing. The only thing i found to work so far was i transferred some of the movies to my ipod and it detected it. The movies work well, but still some are undetected. All of my movies are Mkvs. they are the same ones from my network so i know they are compatible with the nixeus. I have tried alot of settings for my network and i haven't got any of my movies to show up, only a sample video in my video folder.
Is there any chance that 3tb hdds will work on the nixeus in the future?

oh yeah. i did try enabling sharing permissions. Both my of pcs are win 7.

Which firmware version are you using? I've heard the newest version has some issues...

I finally got a wifi dongle that works. I was messing around with my network and my 3tb hdd works with the nixeus on there. All i had to do is put my files in the hard drive so that they only have 1 or no folder to get to them. If its more it seems that the files do not show up.

The files them self work well enough. There are a couple of files that wont show up still, and on larger files they have load times every little bit. I can put some of them on my ipod and play them on the nixeus though usb and that seems to be the best way because they run perfectly. I'm still only sad that i can not hook up my 3tb hdd to the nixeus through usb, because that would solve the loading issue.

But it seems i may have to stick with my pc to my tv if the 3tb hdd will never be supported.

I can confirm sgvroadster's statement... right now the Marvel SDK does not allow the OS to recognize or support 3TB and larger HDDs.

I recently upgraded my main PC on my home net to Win 7. Now every time something happens network related to the Win 7 PC such as shutting down or booting back up the Fusion XS network connection freaks out and does not recognise the change and I almost always need to power the unit down and restart for it to get a fresh read on the network and whats there. My two other PCs running xp never exhibit this behavior
Another irritation of the XS

Still waiting for that update of firmware expected a month or two ago

The XS continues to prove it is not the media player to buy but I am stuck with it.

Only gets used to play movies now and never any web related use. It does play movies well.

We are working on a reset to default for the Fusion XS... Our office set up are using only Windows 7 for all PCs and the Fusion XS was tested extensively in that set up. Is your Fusion XS' network connection wireless or with a wired ethernet cable?
