I live in Thailand so the Fusion XS was not so easy to get but now I have one. When I was looking and considering what player to buy I could not decide and with no experience I decided to try the XS. I inquired with the Nixeus support about using a wireless adapter. As there is no comprehensive list of adapters that have been tested support just told me the chipset being used was pretty common so the adapter I have most likely would work.

I went ahead and ordered the XS. Of course now that I have it (3 days) the first thing was to plug in the wireless adapter I have and try it.

Adapter unit:

ZyXEL NWD-270N Wireless N-Lite USB Adapter

I plugged the 270 in to the USB port and powered up the unit

After booting I went to network set up and changed to wireless type and almost immediately the XS found my wireless network. I configured my security password and the XS and 270 started searching and within a minute the XS showed a green lock indicator. Now in 3 days the unit seems to function good. I use the wireless to stream from my NAS server and also to connect to the internet. So far so good.

So at this point I can say for me the XS works with this adapter

Update to my posting yesterday.

I spoke to soon about the Zxyel adapter working good. After using for 2 days the Fusion XS was at the old level of firmware 1.33 so I used the units update feature and down loaded the newest version 1.46. Now not only do I have trouble connecting using the adapter the whole XS is doing weird stuff,,,,,,,too many little annoying things to describe. I will attempt to go back to 1.42 and see what that does.

So now a few more days and no words of wisdom from Fusion support about possible issues with the 1.46 or any version I can download.

IO have been playing around with both the XS set up and my adapter settings and now I have found something that seems to connect and stay connected. I had one dis connect last night during a movie and I had to re-boot the XS to connect again. Don't know what or why but my network was still up and my Dreambox was still up when the disconnect happened so I blame the XS/adapter itself

Hi Longball,

Did you download and install the new beta firmware version 01.52.00.32.10 that I sent you? I think one of the fixes in that firmware is when the adapter gets disconnected it will auto reconnect.
